"Oscar-99"

The Russian chess magazine "64-Chess Review" has summed up results of voting for "Oscar" - a prize awarded to the best chessplayer of the year. This time we received 261 lists from 53 countries. Chess experts, journalists and 53 grandmasters have taken part in the voting. The best chessplayer of the world Gary Kasparov has been recognized as the best chessplayer in 1999 year. He took 234 first places and gained 3297 points (1 place - 13 points, 2 - 11, 3 - 9, 4 - 7, 5 - 6, ... , 10 - 1). The top 10 is as follows:
