The Staunton style wooden pieces come with a king of 96 mm (3.8") in height. Each square of the chessboard is extremely sensitive and the computer "sees" a piece even at the edge of a square. Analyzing with the three dimensional chessboard you can focus your attention completely on the board which is much less distracting and less tiring than watching a computer monitor. You can look at the monitor only when you want to know what the computer thinks of your analysis. ECB is connected to a computer's standard serial or USB port on an IBM PC compatible computer.
The Shahcom electronic chessboard has been used to major international tournaments
since 1994, such as follows:
Anatoly Karpov , the first leading player to appreciate the Shahcom ECB, said in a TV interview that the board is a very useful tool for him. With the ECB he can check all the variations his seconds have analyzed, as well as those that they have proposed!
Gary Kasparov 's second finds it valuable since. "Gary plays out his analysis too quickly to annotate!" The Shahcom ECB easily tracks and can save all variations.
