VIII congress of chess players of Russia took place on February 24th 2007 in Moscow in a hotel complex "Izmailovo". In the agenda - election of the President, Vice-presidents, members of Executive committee and Presidium. After ballot Alexander Zhukov has been elected by president of Russian Chess Federation for the next four years. For its nominee have voted 75 of 79 electors. The first vice-president became Arcady Dvorkovich. Vice-presidents - Vyacheslav Beresnev, Valery Bovaev, Alexander Kryukov and Alexander Bakh. The honourable president - Andrey Selivanov.
