Gary Kasparov is the winner of the super-tournament in Linares which took place February 22 - March 10. This was the seven player double round robin tournament. The participants: Garry Kasparov, Viswanathan Anand, Michael Adams, Vassily Ivanchuk, Alexei Shirov, Francisco Vallejo Pons and FIDE World champion Ruslan Ponomariov .
