Emil Sutovsky     Emil Sutovsky from Israel became the European Champion after winning a tie-break against Ruslan Ponomariov - Ukraine.
The 2nd European Chess Championship takes place in Ohrid Macedonia 1st-15th June. The event is a 13 round Swiss System. 143 GMs are playing. 46 players qualifies to the FIDE World Championsh - 2001.
